Genesis 30: 37-39. " Jacob took fresh cut branches from poplar, almond and plane trees and made stripes on them by peeling the bark and exposing the white inner wood of the branches. 38. Then he placed the peeled branches in all the watering troughs, so that they would be DIRECTLY INFRONT of the flock when they came to drink." According to Jacob's finding, the animals, donkeys and camels included, give birth to animals of the colour that is around them.
If animals live in a green environment, they tend to birth offsprings that are dark in colour. It is true of caterpillars too, they are green because they live in green trees and also eat that green. Jacob did put the peeled barks where the animals were feeding and also where they drank and rested. When ever they raised their heads, they saw white stripes, as they chased each other for mating, it was white stipes. Finally the product they produced was stripped despite them being completely black or white. People are products of what we eat and what we see daily. Children are shaped with what they spend most of their time on daily. City children behave differently to country boys and girls. Media like whatsapp and Facebook have taken over the upbringing of our children. Films have become the greatest intertainers and source of knowledge for our children. What our Christian children see on tv celebrities is shaping their characters.
Parents dont have time for their children, husbands are too buisy for their wives, and wives dont need anyone except their foned and laptops. The mindset you develop from these striped branches you see daily is a striped offspring. Children have different and unique behaviour, different from anyone inthe family. Media has taken over the upbringing of our children.Facebook has taken over the role of married couples in our homes. Celebrates are now teaching our young boys how to be courageous and morality. Hollywood has taken over all our family duties and responsibilities. Men are slaughtering their women as they always see in films. Girls are being impregnated while young because they watch people kissing strangers on television.
Boys are killing each other at school because heroes in the films kill every day. Men celebrities are marrying men. Are we comfortable with Hollywood being inthe front stage of bringing our children up? Jacob got more rich by stripped branches, who are we enriching by exposing ourselves and children to all kinds of media? Why cant you have time of Christian videos and music? Why cant we take the centre stage of teaching our children accepted moral values not money or heroism? Don't buy your children a ticket to Hollywood, that will lead to hell. Buy them a Bible, and you will not have nightmares when you sleep. Rember: What we see and eat is what shapes us daily.
