DATE: WEDNESDAY 19TH JULY 2017
TODAY'S READING: Exodus 17:1-16
TOPIC: ABBA FATHER
TEXT: Romans 8:15 (KJV) "For ye have not received the spirit of
bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption,
whereby we cry, Abba, Father."Child of God, the spirit at work in you now is not the spirit of bondage but of sonship by Christ Jesus. That spirit is what gives the confidence to address God as Abba Father.
God is no longer just a God to you; he is now your own daddy, your own "Abba Father" There is an affinity and a strange proximity that exist between you and God now. Though He is a God to you, he is also your Father. This is the relationship that Jesus brought to the earth realm. Prior to the coming of Jesus, nobody ever address God as Father; and it was on the account that he called God Father that he was killed Jesus made you accepted in the beloved (Ephesians 1:6) thereby changing the states of your relationship with God from a normal level to a greater standard of sonship. Anytime God addressed Jesus as "beloved" the next word that follows is "son".
So you cannot be in the beloved without being a son. And for you to be son, it means that God is your Father.
PRAYER POINT
My Father, my Father; cause me to more established in the relationship of Father and/daughter with you.
