Scriptural Read: psalm 62
TOPIC:- DON'T LOOK BACK
TEXT:" And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed." Genesis 19:1
The people of Israel after their Exodus from Egypt, still remembered Egypt (they word) how they had lived in luxury and enjoyment forgetting their slavery and they desired to go back there because of their temporary discomfort to Canaan.
You have just given your life to Christ and it seems as if you are missing a lot. Listen, it is just a matter of time. There is a time of passing through, at that period, God will train you for the harvest He has prepared for you so that you are not overwhelmed with it and He loses you. So no matter the temporary challenge presently, never you look back. There is nothing good in Egypt. Your Canaan has your destiny. The wilderness is just a transit; it is not your final destination.
In Genesis 19:17, the angels of God told lot and his household to leave Gomorrah and Sodom. They were told to flee from Sodom, never to look back but Lot's wife looked back and became a pillar of salt in Gen. 19:26. Child of God, if you want to go back to those things you have left because you think there's pleasure in them, you turn into a pillar of salt. Your pillar of salt might be HIV, poverty at it's highest zenith, attacks from satanic powers, loss of loved ones. Be warned!! Don't go back!!!
PRAYER
My father, as I pray, in anyway I might have thought of looking back show me mercy.
