TODAY'S READING - Psalm 16

TOPIC: HOW TO BECOME A SON

TEXT: "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." John 1:12

Becoming a son of God is a process of preparation through mentorship, personal consecration, situation or circumstance, interaction and service. When you are a child, inheritance can't be given to you. We all began our relationship as children but we must not remain there, inheritance comes to sons not children. There are things God can't give to you because you are still a child. Galatians 4:1-2

To become a son and inherit your lots, you must be under mentorship where a matured believers (minister) impact the life of a young believer to the level of maturity. Your mentor must be a man you value and respect in terms of experience and anointing. Such mentor must also have proofs of his ministry. There is much pruning and impartation that takes place in a young believer's life through quality relationship with his mentor. To become a son, you also need personal consecration where you are transformed through pursuit and devotion to God in prayers and the word. 1 Peter 2:2 says "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby." Personal consecration is inspired by a believer's spiritual hunger for God. Psalm 42:2, Psalm 132:4-5.
