TODAY'S READING 2 SAM. 7:1-29
TOPIC: MAKE FORGIVENESS A LIFESTYLE
TEXT: "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Matthew 6:14-15
A forgiving man is a progressive man. Nothing hunts a man like unforgiveness. So many pastors, leaders and Christians are perpetually limited in life because of unforgiving heart. Their unforgiveness is the cross they have to carry about. They carry a heavy heart with them, thus speed in life is being affected. They have refused to forget the hurt of the past, so God has withheld from them the greatness they cry for. Unforgiveness is a great proof of immaturity. It is childish to keep grudges. It is immature to store offences. If God can forgive you, then there is nobody you shouldn't forgive. Forgiveness does more good to you than to those you have forgiven. As a matter of fact, to forgive a man is to commit him to God.
It is totally absurd to see individuals who are knowledgeable in Bible principles, tongue-talking and 'spirit-filled' maintain grudges with fellow believers. It even becomes more pitiable when it is coming from the pulpit. The sad part is that folks have devised all kinds of scriptures in their defense. Let me say here that there is no right way to do a wrong thing. What is wrong is wrong. If you want to go far in life, start forgiving your offenders.
