Scriptural Reading:psalm 17
Topic: IN BATTLE TIME
TEXT: " And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all." 1 Samuel 30:7-8.
King David was faced with a situation that was beyond all his natural hope in fighting his enemy. The only opportunity of overcoming his enemy was dependent upon God. The Amalekites had invaded the south and Ziklag and burnt it with fire. Everything was taken away. In his gaining victory over his enemy, our text demonstrated how we ourselves are to approach our own battles against our enemies.

Firstly, what David did is that he pushed or pressed on. Just like David, set himself apart and tapped into spiritual realm, do the Same to generate strength. Has your strength all gone because of battles on every side? Just as David did, pursue and ask God the strategy to take in order to overcome. David asked God in 1Samuel 30:8, whether he should pursue after his enemies and the Lord said yes. Most at times the enemies try to weary us in well doing at times it seems as if there is no strength in us. However, if we push unto hearing from God, we shall overcome, and recover all. I pray that, in that battle, you we press and recover all.
PRAYER
Father, as I pray, show me the right approach to overcome this battle.
