GOD’S HONOUR
Scriptural
Reading: “How can ye believe, which receive honour one of
another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?” John 5:44.
Child of God, until you get to that
point in your life where the Lord Jesus is the only one that matters in your
life, you really and truly cannot walk with Him. You can only display absolute
trust, confidence and loyalty to God and His word when you do not seek the
honour and approval of men.
Christianity is about making God’s
word the only foundation upon which your entire life is built, you must submit
to the sovereignty and rulership of God and His word. That means you believe,
accept and do whatever He tells you. When He says, “You are healed”, it makes
no difference to you what anybody else thinks or says; you know you are healed! Medical reports may have
stated otherwise, but you remain unperturbed because you have chosen to believe
His report alone; (1Peter 2:24). That
is how to honour God and His word in your life.
When you live
your life based on the opinions of others you cannot please God. If you have
received Jesus as Lord of your life, then let Him be the focal point of all
your aspiration . (John 5:23, Luke 16:15). Let Him become the motivation for
all the major steps you take in life. Relate with Him in fellowship as the core
of your existence and seek the honour that only Him can give.
PRAYER:
Father, teach me
by your Spirit to seek only the honour that comes you.
